Bogus date is just a new warning meaning "No such date" - Jan, 13 2009 was a Tuesday, not Wednesday. This is due to the new rpm version with enhanced checks. I don't have the specifics for the %doc thing, but it's certainly in the rpm-maint archives [1], look for Panu's announce message recently.
