Nobody is "butting" into anything. There can be more than one
proposal. We get to discuss competing ideas and form consensus.
Have fun with your proposals and implementing them just dont mix the
cron migration up with the timer units ( which has been there from the

I agree we should keep them separate. The feature page talks solely
about the feature itself being present: it's a publicity feature, a
'talk about this neat upstream feature!' feature. It does not in any way
state that any existing services should or will be migrated from cron to
systemd timers. If that were going to happen in any kind of wholesale
manner, that should be a separate feature (and on that basis, we
probably shouldn't do it for F19, as the feature deadline is now gone).
Maintainers can just choose to do so today as an update to their component.
