I ran into an issue with building a project against alsa-lib in rawhide (now f19) in December. It was a simple gcc issue where sys/types.h is no longer gotten for free and needs to be explicitly included.
There has been no response to my bug report[1] from the package maintainer even though I have provided a patch and git diff to what was at the time "master". The fix has been implemented upstream but I do not believe it has made it's way into a release. Could a proven packager please implement the fix? Thanks, Richard [1] https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=885306
