FWIW, everyone seems to hate gpk-application, so I doubt anyone would
shed any tears over its loss. =) And if gpk-update-viewer has any
committed fans, I ain't met 'em.

That's all GNOME-specific stuff, as I read it. None of this feature
looks like it particularly applies to other desktops.
