What I am suggesting is adding a third option:

3) Use less bandwidth *and* apply updates fast (by fixing deltarpm).
So if we have 3) the choice between 1) and 2) does not make much sense

but we *do not have* option 3 without change fundamentally how things are implemented, so yes - it would be fine - but decisions are already made by what we *have now* by *disable* it as default

so just stop arguing in theory when the topic is about what is possible
