In the location mode you could tell it to use a combination of one of the following 1. GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks 2. Wi-Fi and mobile networks and 3. only mobile networks. I will have to look into how and what exactly it sends to Google in case you choose to report location data. Cell phone users get tracked no matter what.
