Hi Lex,

thanks for the reply. I tried to use the tool but xgettext does not output any strings for me. I tried to run it like this:

xgettext -D . -o - *.c

Also used some variations but no success. Can you give me a hint?

Thanks,
Lars

Hello All,

I got a question about the translation files. If I have a translated string
like in the example below, does the comment with the source location have a
meaning for the translation tool or is it "only" an information for other
developers?

#. Windows
#: ../webhelper/src/gwh-plugin.c:541
msgid "Windows"
msgstr "Fenster"

Thanks for any answers in advance.

Its a generated comment from the tool that extracts the strings to be
translated.

See https://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/html_node/PO-Files.html

Cheers

Greetings,
Lars
