To customize the keyboard, you need to either edit /etc/sysconfig/keyboard, or create /home/olpc/.kbd. The contents in both cases should be: XKB_MODEL="olpc" XKB_LAYOUT="<2 letter ISO country code>" XKB_VARIANT="olpc" # usually!
