-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
The last few weeks have seen a lot of positive OLPC and Sugar development activity. In the same vein, we're progressing on the Dextrose-3 development roadmap [1]. This mail is notification for the Alpha-2 development release. Once again, this release has been made possible due to close collaboration between OLPC, Sugar, OLPC.au and Activity Central ==Key points== * Rebasing Dextrose-3 patches on top of sugar-0.93.4 * Fixing high-priority issues as per Feature Freeze [2] ==Get it here== ===XO-1=== With gnome: http://people.sugarlabs.org/anish/dx3/dx3g040.img http://people.sugarlabs.org/anish/dx3/dx3g040.crc Without gnome: http://people.sugarlabs.org/anish/dx3/dx3ng040.img http://people.sugarlabs.org/anish/dx3/dx3ng040.crc ===XO-1.5=== With gnome: http://people.sugarlabs.org/anish/dx3-1.5/dx3g041.zd Without gnome: http://people.sugarlabs.org/anish/dx3-1.5/dx3ng041.zd ==What comes next?== Um... Alpha-3 (what else did you expect ;-)? Okay, there will likely be a rpm update or another development build (before Alpha-3 due on 17th October) Broadly, we're done or very close to completion of most of the development. By Alpha-3 Dextrose-3 will start to have 'proper' testing, have a well defined Activity list, and most of all, bug-fixes! So, test, test, test! If you find a problem, open a ticket in bugs.sugarlabs.org and remember to add the 'dx3' keyword to it. ==Bugfixes== Note: This list does not contain the sugar bugs fixed between 0.92.4-0.93.4 (and whose patches have been upstreamed) or the OLPC bugs fixed during that period * au#886 Control panel -> Accessibility -> "Cancel" button doesn't work * au#851 yum transactions can be interrrupted * au#825 Software Update fails to upgrade content bundles * au#747 Older activities can overwrite newer ones * sl#3082 Check if flash in dx3 is click to enable ==Activity version updates== * Browse-126 * Chat-71 * Distance-28 * FotoToon-9 * Maze-13 * Memorize-37 * Pippy-41 * Ruler-12 * Speak-31 * TamTamMini-60 * Write-76 ==New Packages== + ax-1.0-1.uy.fc14.i686 + CapitalFont-1.0-1.uy.noarch + FlatbedCursors-0.2-1.fc14.1.uy.noarch + magnifier-Ceibal-3.3.2-1.1.uy.fc14.i686 + pybox2d-2.0.2-4.20100110svn.fc14.i686 + pygtk2-libglade-2.17.0-9.fc14.i686 ==Updated Packages== + dextrose-updater-6-1.fc14.noarch + kernel-2.6.35.13_xo1-20110915.0803.olpc.8c91a41.i586 + olpc-powerd-35-1.fc14.i686 + olpc-powerd-dbus-35-1.fc14.i686 + olpc-utils-1.3.1-1.fc14.i686 + sugar-0.93.4-20110920.dx3.fc14.noarch + sugar-artwork-0.93.3-20110920.dx3.fc14.i686 + sugar-toolkit-0.93.3-20110920.dx3.fc14.i686 + bitfrost-1.0.15-1.fc14.i686 + ca-certificates-2011.78-1.fc14.noarch + firefox-3.6.22-1.fc14.i686 + libgudev1-161-10.fc14.i686 + librsvg2-2.32.0-4.fc14.i686 + libudev-161-10.fc14.i686 + lyx-fonts-2.0.1-2.fc14.noarch + openssl-1.0.0e-1.fc14.i686 + rsyslog-4.6.3-3.fc14.i686 + tzdata-2011i-1.fc14.noarch + udev-161-10.fc14.i686 + vim-minimal-7.3.289-1.fc14.i686 + xulrunner-1.9.2.22-1.fc14.i686 ==Removed packages== - - mesa-dri-drivers-7.9-5.fc14.i686 - - prelink-0.4.3-4.fc14.i686 - - ssmtp-2.61-15.fc14.i686 [1] http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Dextrose/3/Roadmap [2] http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Dextrose/3/Feature_Freeze - -- Anish Mangal Dextrose Project Manager P.S.
