Cache refresh: last week, we decided to move ahead with
https://github.com/open-mpi/ompi/pull/390 as a solution to
https://github.com/open-mpi/ompi/issues/311. After the Tuesday call last week,
I ran into problems with #390. #410 is a new approach and seems to solve the
problems.
