A huge percent of these crashes come from abort() calls spread across
openchange server endpoints and SOGo backend code. These abort() calls
primarily intended to highlight a corner case or eventually catch a
faulty behavior.

They have no future in OpenChange. We have started new investigation and
have found that most of these calls are triggered because the backend
lacks feature implementation.

We have therefore started to track them update the code so we can return
nice friendly error message instead, such as MAPI_E_NOT_IMPLEMENTED etc.

There is a Zentyal SOGo and SOPE repository where patches are pushed
before they enter SOGo master. You may want to give it a try and see if
you encounter better results with it:

https://github.com/Zentyal/sogo/
https://github.com/Zentyal/sope/

With regards to openchange master, we have several outside contributions
we are going to merge in the foreseeable future, but this will be part
of a different email.

The second kind of crashes you may encounter are related to lack of
sanity checks in some portions that leads to malformed payloads at the
NDR level. As far as we can see, they are very rare but we keep chasing
them.

Finally about the documentation - we are in the process of updating it
so it finally can play its role of unique and trustful documentation of
reference.

Br,
Julien.
