Hi,

with the Om 2008.8 I sometimes have problems with the USB connection
to my notebook or PC: I don't get a usb address when connecting:

connecting to my notebook running opensuse 11.0 x84_64:

usb 4-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 34
        usb 4-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
        usb 4-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
usb 4-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 35
        usb 4-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
        usb 4-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
usb 4-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 36
usb 4-2: device not accepting address 36, error -71
usb 4-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 37
usb 4-2: device not accepting address 37, error -71
hub 4-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2

and connecting to a PC running suse 10.1 running kernel 2.6.16.54-0.2.5-smp
x86_64

usb 1-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8

hmm, why low speed here?

        usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
        usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
usb 1-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 9
        usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
        usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71
usb 1-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 10
usb 1-2: device not accepting address 10, error -71
usb 1-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 11
usb 1-2: device not accepting address 11, error -71

after suspend/resumg of the FR now usb works again -- from the notebook's dmesg:

usb 4-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 38
usb 4-1: configuration #1 chosen from 2 choices
usb0: register 'cdc_ether' at usb-0000:00:1d.0-1, CDC Ethernet Device,
aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff
usb 4-1: New USB device found, idVendor=1457, idProduct=5122
        usb 4-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
        usb 4-1: Product: RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget
        usb 4-1: Manufacturer: Linux 2.6.24/s3c2410_udc

usb/network first did work with Om 2008.8. at least once reboot of the FR
didn't help
with the FR staying connected to the notebook's usb.

this is not completely new to Om 2008.8, I've seen the same intermitted usb
problems
for the last few days (1 week?) using more or less decent update kernels.

at least once before Om 2008.8 I tried to reboot the notebook, didn't help
to get usb back at that time. usb later worked again.

known problem ?
what to check/test ?

I'll try to figure out if suspend/resume always fixes this usb "lockup".
