What do their upstreams think about using -O3 instead of -O2 for them? If -O3 passed some extra safe CFLAGS (for that packages), why those upstreams don't simply use them by default? (that will also help to other distributions and also to Gentoo, where we are discouraged to use -O3 (except some firefox parts that are compiled with -O3 by upstream decision and we respect that decision as they know better their own software ;))
