Your right using kernel-switcher done the trick

After looking at entropy I noticed
When I used equo and sulfur to install/upgrade nvidia drivers they installed
nvidia-drivers-285.05.09#3.0.0-sabayon~2.tbz2

The kernel-switcher installed
nvidia-drivers-285.05.09#3.1.0-sabayon~1.tbz2

Is now working as expected on desktop (nvidia) and notebook (ati)
