To write my own GPS logger <https://github.com/ciofeca/harbour-gpstuff> I tried everything thinkable, even fiddling with the GPS server (/opt/alien/system/genv/bin/alien_gps_server) but did not find any way to get RAW NMEA strings... except using the library function calls (like QtPositioning/QGeoPositionInfoSource and related things in C++/Qt: then you can literally build up your own NMEA strings).
