Hi List, In order to keep up the good work and make libmapi 0.6 release a valuable one with significant progresses, we decided to postpone the release to an undefined date.
We are currently working on different issues: [0x1] MAPI ACLs: ================ I have realized a torture test able to list ACLs for a given folder, have traced a scenario opening shared contacts and I'm now working on setting ACLs for a given folder. [0x2] Public Folders: ===================== There has not been many investigations done on this part, but this may come quicker than expected. [0x3] Cross-Platform builds =========================== This has been asked by different developers, so we started to work on cross-platforms builds. Given our limited resources, I've started to make the FreeBSD port. I encountered very few platform dependencies problems and most of the work was focused on making a Linux-BSD compliant build system. I have mapiprofile, openchangeclient and exchange2mbox working properly on this platform and plan to merge the code back to the trunk when we finish fixing the comparison_fn_t problem in Samba4 headers. [0x4] Bindings ============== I have started working a couple of weeks ago on creating Perl bindings for the MAPI library using SWIG. Given our resources, I'll stop working on it for a while and focus on bringing core features to libmapi. If someone is interested in providing PHP, Python or continue the Perl binding work, I'd be love to know about it ;) [0x5] MAPI Library compatibility ================================ I'll finish this report with some promising news. We had success report from a user testing libmapi against Exchange 2007. the MAPI library works properly once Public Folders are created which is a mandatory step in order to make Outlook 2003 working with this server. We can now say OpenChange MAPI Library works with Exchange 5.5, 2000, 2003 and 2007 in almost default configuration. -- Julien Kerihuel [EMAIL PROTECTED] OpenChange Project Manager GPG Fingerprint: 0B55 783D A781 6329 108A B609 7EF6 FE11 A35F 1F79
