Point very well taken. This doesn't finish the bindings discussion, but I can find another way to solve the PHP groupware issue quickly. I remain convinced that these developers are a very important short-term target for libmapi. Thanks. I looked a bit harder. SWiG is not GPL, as you might guess it is very liberal. And PHP is a mixure of LGPL, GPL, Apache and PHP. The bit we'd need is PHP. A large mess.
