I've sent a copy of the plugin to Julien. I'm happy for it to be
distributed if it's of use. It is, however, fairly simplistic. I will
gladly modify it based on any recommendations.

Yep, you are correct. This problem should have gone away in the latest
revisions of Samba 4.

Same here. If you're interested, I think it would be nice to ship (and
maintain) this plugin as part of OpenChange.
