Good point, but there is nobody familiar with the core* of the contactsapp, only with the code he created.


* updating avatars/contact information
* code which needs porting (addressbook, searchprovider etc)
* caldav exporting etc

I do not see why you need a lead if you have a decent number of people
who are already familiar with the code base and willing to contribute.
A maintenance team of 3 members or so should be just fine.
