Dear RIOTers,
summer is already there and July release 2018.07 is coming.
I will be taking care of the release process for the first time and I
welcome your feedback.
First the important dates are fixed as follows:
- preliminary/soft feature freezefor high impact features: July 16th,
2018
- final/hard feature freeze: July 23th, 2018
- final release date: When tests run successfully, hoping at the 1st of
August to use the July 31th Hack'N'Ack for finalizing.
Please contact me if you have features you would really want to have,
and if you think they would be ready for the release.
On your side, can you also please check you open pull requests and
issues and update the release milestone to the current or the next
release to help focus the efforts.
Also remember to update and rebase your PRs that you want review for.
My objective for this release, is to get and publish results of
automated tests for more boards than previous releases.
Some automated tests have never been run or worked on some platforms.
I think that giving a reference state of the test results would help the
effort of improving automated testing.
