I was going to announce this after Christmas, but maybe today is better. I'm proposing to add a Credits section to the Release Notes for the XFree86 4.4 release. I have a sample/draft at:
http://www.xfree86.org/~dawes/pre-4.4/RELNOTES5.html Remember this is a sample only, it is intended to give an idea of how it might look. It is by no means complete. The idea is that notable new stuff (features and fixes) for which the contributors and/or integrators have provided details for section 2 of the Release Notes would be itemised in the Credits section. Section 2 can be viewed at: http://www.xfree86.org/~dawes/pre-4.4/RELNOTES2.html Comments are welcome. So are submissions of material and of course additions/fixes to the list of contributors. The bulk list in the draft was ripped from the post-4.3.0 CHANGELOG entries. There are bound to be some errors and omissions given that we have had contributions from more than 250 people for this release, so if you are not listed just send me the details. I prepared this just after the RC2 cut, so submissions since then aren't yet reflected in the list.
