That's a great shame. Strange that 1400x1050 does work on an external crt, but not the LVDS. This raises two questions. Will such LVDS support be added? I see some 3D FAQ's have the answer "... will be supported later this year in release 4.0 of the Intel Embedded Graphics Driver." It would be nice if this answer applied to the 1400x1050 LVDS too. Will the necessary information or will sample code to program the 1400x1050 video mode be released? This would allow the open source X driver to add this capability. Even if there is resistance to releasing source for the whole IEGD, I hope Intel can find a way to release this. Similar questions could be posed about twin/clone/dual view and overlays and the portctl stuff, but I didn't test those to see how they work at present.
