Hello,

Unfortunately I need to re-calibrate the TouchScreen without having to restart the XServer or X-based applications that are running.

1. I read that this could be acheived by switching VTs.

2. I also read Keith's discussion about the X exposing an API to edit the configuration file and sending an EV_RST event to the device to force the X to use the recalibrated values. ( http://lists.arm.linux.org.uk/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2002-March/008081.html)  But I dont know which API call he was referring to. If you have any suggestions please do let me know.

And No, I am not very familiar with the TouchScreen Driver.

And thank you for your response.

Sudeep,

to ensure this you have to restart the Xserver. or you know exactly how the touchscreen driver works.

Hello,

The touchscreen calibration routine that I use refreshes the pointercal file. How do I ensure that the Xserver picks up these new values ??
