   Major releases don't come very often and the dates are not firm
but we try to get one out at least once a year.  XFree86 does release
developer snapshots every few weeks (http://www.xfree86.org/develsnaps/).

   In my experience RedHat takes a while to get stuff like this
into the box.  You might want to talk to RedHat explicitly about
that.  They do modify and patch their own X-server so it may be
possible to to expediate this.
