I've tried to explain that above.
I have redundancy over multiple hosts. I replicate all objects between the 
machines.
This way doing anything other than multiple zpools are a waste.
If I just throw all disks into a big zpool with striping, I have to rebuild all 
the data if one disk fails.
If I use mirror or raidz, this adds up unnecessary IO needs and disk usage.
