George was a member of the ZFS development team at Sun Microsystems, where he did a lot of work in the SPA. More recently, George gave a talk about zpool performance <http://www.slideshare.net/gw25295/pool-performance-28609362>at the OpenZFS Developer Summit, and at the associated hackathon he worked on a prototype of a compressed ARC (ZFS's in-memory cache).
