UI Refresh huh?
So who is doing that?
Nice info though.

Hey Moovida peoples,
Moovida is undergoing a huge growth spurt. Maybe it’s not the best
idea to make a Media Center analogy to our awkward teenage years
where we tend to stumble upon our overgrown limbs (or maybe that was
just me), but in this case the growth part holds true.
Moovida 1.0.8.
Our growing team is working hard to make Moovida the Media Center of
your dreams, but before you start drooling over it, we have to nail
the basics. I’m talking bug fixes, key features, performance and
similarly glamorous work we pride ourselves upon that doesn't happen
overnight. We’ve made great inroads with our latest release, Moovida
1.0.8. [1], which includes all the bug fixes you can find here [2].
Most notably, the changes YouTube made which led to playback issues
are now resolved, and problems with the play/pause button have been
smoothed out. If ever you spot something not quite right with
Moovida, make sure to let us know [3], after all, we’re here to fix
it.
We’re also getting more consistent. Moovida 1.0.8. is the first of
what will be a monthly release schedule, the latest of which will be
bundled with Ubuntu’s 9.10 release [4]. Ubuntu users are just a few
clicks away from installing Moovida with two options: automated and
transparent updates in the plugin repository, orpackages in our PPA
[5].
Development Contest
There's still time to participate in our dev contest with Mandriva
[6]for the chance to win kick ass prizes. So far we've received
solid plugin submissions like Vimeo and Arte … but there are still
so many plugins awaiting to be created. Is there a 32’’ LCD HDTV
with your name on it?
New Forum
Moovida Forum members with acute observation skills will have
noticed some changes. Our new phpBB client has more functions, and
we’ve also started rewarding our community superstars with a little
recognition. The new Forum boasts the following:
• Recognition Program
• More profile info at first glance to know specs and user ratings
• New functionalities: user control panel, stats, member page, etc.
Get more details on our Forum upgrades in our next blog post [7].
Upcoming
As a hint of what’s coming, all we can say for now is UI refresh,
and we promise you it will be fresh. Tantalizing? Subscribe to our
new blog [8]to get the latest news and sneak peeks.
Meanwhile, we’ve got a web facelift coming very soon (I tend to
think you’re never too young to get one) and we’ve also started
tweeting regularly, so followers can get live updates [9].
User comment of the Month
Our friend Riverty pointed out that we lack in keyboard shortcut
documentation [10]. Moovida is intuitive enough for a remote or
mouse, but not for a keyboard… duly noted. We’ll soon be adding this
to our FAQ.
Review of the Month
We don’t like to toot our own horn, so we let others do it for us
(and we assume they know what they’re talking about):
"Moovida is a high quality media center that is greatly appreciated
for its plugins, which allow a great variety of online media to be
retrieved in just a few clicks.” (translated from French)
- Fleur Brosseau, Linux Pratique (Nov-Dec 2009 issue)
