Matt I'd be interested. I've just started my own blog http://blog.matthewcain.co.uk which gives some indication of my writing. Previously, I worked at ippr on democratic engagement and led the research on the funding of political parties. I regularly canvass for Labour but have stopped going to party meetings (I was CLP chair at 17 and on the National Policy Forum but have since lost interest in the machine side of things). I used to work for John Denham. I'd like to write about: * my political experience of trying to persuade people on the doorstep that politics is important * the possibilities of democratic engagement thanks to web 2.0 and the where that's compromised disappointing realities of running a country * the growing separation between the political class and the public at large * the absurdities of political activism Best, Matthew ___ Matthew Cain Chief Executive www.newscounter.com

It's meant to do a bit to help build bottom-up politics. One of the challenges is to find a vocabulary that wouldn't turn off a starving camel. My working title is "Micropolis", and I'm looking for a few people to contribute from different backgrounds. If there was anybody who would be interested in contributing to that area of writing on a multi-partisan (i.e., writers from all parties and none, and disagreement is welcome) political site, I'd be interested to hear from you.
