If an average of one query per second is high enough for Flickr - 
http://developer.yahoo.com/flickr/ - I'd say it's good enough for the 
ever so slightly smaller us. :-) Seriously, if you're only making one 
off calls, you shouldn't be in any hurry, so the slower you can get away 
with, the kinder you are to us. But sleeping a second or two between 
calls should be fine.

I would certainly pass 50 ids to getMPs info (and use the fields 
variable to not fetch everything). I couldn't tell you a "best" number 
to use, 50 sounds fine to me.
