FEEL FREE TO PASS ON THIS EMAIL TO YOUR FRIENDS AND COMMUNITIES.* Firstly, if you help us: - We'll give you credit, and drinks - Your work will reach a dedicated audience, all the main political media and everyone in the Westminster village, with viewing figures growing every week *WAYS TO HELP* Our priorities over the next month are the following (in order of importance): 1. *GUY NEWS EVERYWHERE:* We want to get a network of Guy News reporters ready to film events and send in footage from all over the country. This will be crucial during the election. If some politician or journalist screws up in a town hall meeting in Crewe, we want to have the footage before the BBC does. In order to help with this: - tell everyone you know to take their camcorders with them and contact * [email protected] <[email protected]> to send it in*. Not just politicians, but the whole media circus is fair game. - let us know where you're based and if we hear about events that would be good to cover there, we can let you know. - look out for local political events (MP speeches/visits, protests, debates, etc) and let us know about them so that, even if you can't go yourself, we can try to send someone. - if you film an event where something interesting happens, maybe also do some interviews with people present. 2. *Help with* *sound. *We'll be getting better mics soon, but aside from that it would be helpful to have some to help out with noise, the mix of sound levels (music vs voices, volume between segments) and other techie sound things we don't know about. *2a) *Help with *st**udio/production stuff* like setting up the green screen so we don't get green halos around our heads and adjusting colour balance on the picture. 3. Better *animation*. Flash or something similar. So that if we suddenly want to have a stealth bomber-shaped David Cameron fly over London or Gordon Brown shooting down an albatross, Emily doesn't have to rely on her half-baked Photoshop skills. PLUS, we want a standard set of animation/graphics:eg you could mock up a really cool Sky-like ident/transition/split screen animation using the Guy News logo. 4. *Website *We also want a nice flashy website and embed frame. The latter should be branded similarly to the standard graphics/logo etc. The former should be like Onion News Network crossed with Sky News. 5. *SONGS* - if you can sing, we need you! We often want to reword songs, but a Guido-Emily duet would be.. well let's not go there. So if you're up for providing your vocal skills, we'd love that. As a subset of that, we'd also love to have* our own theme tune*. It's got to be a dramatic news theme, preferably with different riffs for breaking news/headlines/intro/ending etc. So if you can play an instrument or compose, let us know. *5a. IMPRESSIONS: *Fancy yourself Guy News' Rory Bremner? If you can do excellent political voices (and/or appearances) *we want to hear from you.* * * 6. *DRIVERS*: People to drive us to places, particularly during the election. We have a car, but no driver... 7. Script ideas/concepts (eg, let's put together Star Trek & lovebombing): If you have an excellent idea, let us know - but tell us BEFORE you spend time writing it in case there isn't room that week or it's not something we want to cover.
