Hi. Newbie here :) I've been developing an iPhone app which reports problems to the FixMySteet service. I'm a professional software developer, not on iPhone, and this has been a spare time, learning exercise.
I wasn't aware of the FixMyStreet iPhone app (or indeed the FixMyStreet service) when I began development, and it certainly wasn't my intention to step on any toes. I originally intended building my own webservice to link location to councils and was pointed to FixMyStreet by another developer (Stuart H - thank you). Matthew, from FixMyStreet, is aware of this development and has been extremely helpful answering all my daft questions with great patience. I'm approaching the stage where I'd like beta testers and wondered if anyone in the group would be interested. Requires iPhone 3G/3GS with OS3.0+ It may be possible to make it function on iPod touch by allowing user to enter the postcode, use location services over wifi to get approx location and allow pin to be moved to fine tune the location ? If anyone would be interested I'd be happy to hear from you. I'm not really sure how these email lists work, but have subscribed to updates. Alternatively you can contact me on funkyspider @ gmail . com Regards Martin Stephenson.
