This is a message for any of you running any websites that use
constituencies.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE spell the names of the 650 new constituencies as
the Statutory Instruments do. This means always use "and" not "&".

We're going to have to live with these constituencies for probably the
next five years. It will make everyone's lives easier if we all spell
them the same, so that URL slugs will then be portable for cross
linking, and so the datasets can easily be joined together

Please change them NOW even if it breaks things for a bit. It's going
to be much more hellish to have to suffer the wrong ones for another 5
years, than fix them NOW before many people are using them.

The full list of new constituencies with the right spelling is here:
http://www.theyworkforyou.com/api/docs/getConstituencies?date=2010-06-01&output=js#output

You can also get the Guardian and Press Association identifiers from
the TheyWorkForYou API here:
http://www.theyworkforyou.com/api/docs/getConstituency?name=Cambridge&postcode=&future=1&output=js#output

(Yeah, I know we should all be using some standard RDF URL or
something. But the Government don't allocate one yet, so we may as
well do the next best, which is use the canonical spelling from the
Statutory Instruments. That is easier to do, and just as practically
useful.)

Thanks, especially to Matthew for getting the list above right :)

Francis
