Speed bumps might be automatically detected from the different profile - speedbumps might be up-then-down motion rather than down-then-up for potholes. Without accelerometer data, however, it's difficult to know either way. If speedbumps are falsely detected their location can be recorded and ignored. (Depends, of course, on the accuracy of GPS).
