Tom it could be a good idea but the first thing to do is to approach a
university as they could be willing to validate the degree. The universities
which do that are the Open and Wales. http://www8.open.ac.uk/about/validate/

Subject: [mySociety:public] My thoughts on an MA in public technology

Hi all,

Over the last couple of year I've mentioned to quite a few of you the
idea of setting up a MA to help bring more mySociety-like people into
the world. I've now written it up:

http://www.mysociety.org/2011/02/27/why-id-like-mysociety-to-run-a-masters-in-public-technology/

It is just a personal think piece - no more planning or work has gone
into it than you can see here. But I would like to know what you all
think.

best,

Tom
