Break open the fizzy pop - today sees the official launch of mySociety's
biggest project since 2008.

FixMyTransport.com <http://fixmytransport.com/> has been quietly live for a
couple of weeks, but today we're finally shouting about it.

Like all mySociety projects, FixMyTransport improves access to a fundamental
need - in this case, the need to inform transport providers when things go
wrong. Following the model of FixMyStreet, it publishes copies of all
reports online, adding to transparency and accountability within the
transport industry.

If you're reporting a longterm or consistent issue, you can also create a
page to which others may add their support. We hope to see transport
pressure groups use this low-effort route to an effective web campaigning
presence - but we also want to see the average passenger empowered to rally
together with others, and get things changed.

FixMyTransport holds data for over 300,000 bus, tram, ferry and train stops
stations and routes, and covers every transport operator in Great Britain,
from the huge national rail operators right down to the smallest community
minibus. Lead Developer Louise Crow has been squirreled away working on this
site for the best part of 18 months - and she's now working through the
feedback we've received, making improvements where possible. Meanwhile Dave
Whiteland has been working on the mobile interface and integration with
social media.

If you haven't already done so, please do take a look at the
site<http://www.fixmytransport.com/>and let us know what you think via
the 'feedback' button. Many thanks to
those who have already done so, to our beta testers, and to those who helped
us source the contact data for transport operators. We couldn't have done it
without you.

One more thing - we know that there are people out there who know far more
about public transport than we do. We've already seen some of you leaving
useful comments and advice on the site for our users. We'd very much welcome
anyone who'd like to become part of FixMyTransport's small volunteer
community offering user support: even just a couple of hours a week would be
brilliant. If you'd like to know more, drop us a line on [email protected]
