Yep, I know Open Street Map and have used it
But I'd be amazed if you can get it to do what you want!
Cheers

Dear Pete,
Thanks for the suggestion but I was thinking more on the lines of using
something like http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Using_OpenStreetMap
etc and looking for some suggestions/guides rather than buying a £600
close source product.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Dear Andrew
If you use Arc Geographical Information System software you can do it.
You can import the data and cross reference it with postcodes or some
other key.
Have you seen it?. Costs about £600, I think. Current version 9.1, about
to be upgraded to 10.1.
Takes a while to learn how to do it, but you can teach yourself, like I
did- there are on-line tutorials from ESRI, the american company that
makes it
Best wishes

Subject: [mySociety:public] Is there a simple way of mapping these health
stats for uk? A website which takes the data and maps it?
Dear all,
Recently, I came across this fantastic source of information about public
health from the UK Government (called Public Health Outcomes Framework:
http://www.phoutcomes.info)
Separately, I also notice this shaded map giving a pictorial
representation for one of the indicators of health re. mental health: at
this site http://www.nepho.org.uk/cmhp/
Is there a simple way to take the data from the
http://www.phoutcomes.info site and then for any of the health indicators
to produce a shaded map as shown for mental health above? (Incidentally,
I'm most interested in air quality/air pollution shown at
http://www.phoutcomes.info/public-health-outcomes-framework/domain/4 as
'3.01 - Fraction of mortality attributable to particulate air pollution')
I can't see this option of pictorial map representation on the
http://www.phoutcomes.info site. Still, really great resource! Any
suggestions?
Thanks,
Andrew Wood
