Hi,
One of our servers will be decommissioned soon. The hardware belongs to
us, and it would make life nice and simple if someone is happy to give
it a new home. Sometime in the next month I'll be going to de-rack it,
and am happy to bring it to your door if you're not too far away and are
prepared to buy me lunch. Alternatively you can collect it from my gaff
(and buy me lunch). It will of course have been wiped when you get it.
Some vague specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 @ 2.6GHz
Memory: 8GB
Storage: 10 x 1.5TB disks, giving ~11TB as a single RAID 6 set
Size: 19" x 4U
For those not familiar with servers: it's big and noisy, so don't expect
to be able to tuck it behind your telly unless you wear noise-cancelling
headphones all the time.
First come first served, with the caveat that it'd be nice if you were
going to put it to some noble use and not just stick it on eBay :)
