Hello
My name is Mike Simpson and I have been working in the House of Commons
for 3 and a half years.
Over the past year, I have been developing a website which seeks to make
MPs more accountable to their constituents and also help increase public
participation in politics.
The website is now completed and undergoing a beta test. I have shown it
to a number of MPs (including Zac Goldsmith and Robert Halfon) from who
I have received positive feedback and I am continuing to receive
feedback from the public- which has all been very positive so far.
Representatives from the Speaker's Digital Democracy Commission have
also seen the site, as it ties in with their ambition to get more people
involved in democracy, and they are also very enthusiastic about its
potential.
I intend to launch the website soon but require further support to
promote/manage the site and make it a viable enterprise for the future.
