As you can see from the "discussion" that your question set off, it can be a prickly subject to ask "What advantage does X have over Y?". Both projects are proud of what they have achieved. Try both, and see which best supports what you need, and which you believe you can modify easily to meet any additional requirements. Trumpf did this and were happy. Others have been happy with Mono. > [2] ... Would the developers be willing to answer questions > that would come up in our efforts to document some of the DotGNU > internal workings? Certainly. In general, we are a meritocracy. If what you submit has merit, then in it goes. > [3] What languages are supported on DotGNU? Is it just C# at the > current time? Will you be supporting other languages in the future? We'd like to support more (esp VB.NET and C), but we lack sufficient people to work on everything we'd like to do. All patches are gratefully received. > [4] Can you use the MonoDevelop IDE with DotGNU? If not, is there > another DotGNU IDE in the works? See Radek's message. My IDE is the command-line. We are happy to work with any editor that you are comfortable with. > Let me say in conclusion that our application will be released under > the GPL license on both MS Windows and Linux. That sounds great. Cheers, Rhys. _______________________________________________ Developers mailing list [email protected] http://dotgnu.org/mailman/listinfo/developers
