Means what it says.

autoupdate would make a suggestion what to change. But it's of no use
until we have agreed on a version set - otherwhise everybody changes it
according to what the version he has accidently installed wants.

Most of the other warnings come from the current libtool installation;
if they annoy somebody, we should probably fix the remaining stuff and
switch the warnings off again.
