I'm not sure I see what benefits they would get from moving to Drupal that
would make up for the amount of work it would take to move.
Right now the DDF is overtaxed. They have three or four people, who all already have full (and getting fuller) lives, and they're having a hard time keeping up with all the press that the Doctor is getting. They were lamenting about how they need a way for more people to participate, or to set up paralell efforts on a local level.
My thoughts on this were that DDF would start a practice that local groups would follow: all the Dean Drupal sites would have a section for "news/press coverage" and this would include rapid response to misinformation. This DDF-style activity would produce its own RSS of course, and a whole syndication network for this type of activity could evolve.
But there are many ways that involving greater user-participation would help the DDF.
