At first I fixed it by using two different files for the Postings builder, one for MMBase-1.7.x and one for MMBase-1.8.x.
I just changed this a little bit and for now you only have to compile MMBob against 1.7.x if you want to use it with MMBase-1.7.x otherwise you'll get classcast exceptions.
I don't know what the best way is for distribution of this 1.7.x version.
We just talked about this and we will try to change the way this is done in mmbob that will solve the problems on a more basic level, Sorry if people got hit by this wait a week until we remove all the new mmbase features and move back to things we trust and are stable on both releases. If it works out it will also mean it will be alot faster.
