Please review it and send your comments. Everything can be discussed,
but discussion will be closed next tuesday, after this date a
vote will
take place.
	Important bugfixes included are:
	- MMBase works inside webapp contexts
	- Taglib works with Tomcat 4.1.12
	- Performance issue resolved regarding
MMObjectNode::getRelated() and
MMObjectNode::getRelated(type) where type is a builder
++ Security can be set in no-read-check mode
I thought this was default? I didn't know you could set it.

++ Connection pool now runs on 2 connections (has it been tested on 1?)

Could you explain a little more?

	Bugs:
	-----
All bugs from the bugtracker with medium or high priority must
be
fixed before this release. Bugs with a low priority can be
delayed
	untill a future 1.6.x release.
++ status may only change after discussion on the list?
++ bugs will be posted and may only be changed by release team members

Please not, all commitors may change these. Otherwise *only* the releaseteam can help to create the new release.

	- Editwizards
Documentations hasn't been finished, is this a showstopper?
++ Type of database layer used?
(personally I think -->informormix, postgresql71 and postgresql72 and
for the others relational should be used(lookup.xml))
IMHO the new databasestuff (Storage, lookup) needs to be marked experimental and mentioned in the releasenotes, but not turned on by default. But if others don't agree with me on this one, it'll be turned on by default.

++ Do we want to make JNDI resources active? (email, database)

Hmmmm....I don't know.

I think we need a vision here. It could be backwards compatible, or
plug-and-play ... (personally im +1 for more configurations)

You're talking about more distro's?

	JDK:
	- Sun JDK1.3/1.4
	- IBM JDK1.3
	- Blackdown JDK1.3
++ 1.2? (I works quite well at this moment on mmbase.org, but doesn't
compile... I think this gives 1.2 still some time to breath,... But they
can't use the new features)

Please let's drop 1.2, there's been a vote about this.

	Servlet Engines:
	- Apache Tomcat 4.0.x/4.1.x
4.0 cannot be used with jsp-editors,.. And is very slow... Do we want
to support it?

Yes, we do.

	Databases:
	- MySQL
	- Informix
	- Hsqldb
	- PostgreSQL
++ Hypersonic (encoding bug!!!) (default of orion)
What kind of encoding bug?

Postgresql needs an update(addition of a check to database), when
installing 1.6 (foreign key check)
Converting 7.1 to 7.2 doesn't work (you cant use the jdbc7.2 driver,...
This is postgresl related imho (iod vs bloba))

I'll add this to the releasenotes.

	Releases
	========
There will be at least 2 release candidate before the final
release.
Not sure bout this...

Why not? At least 2 rc's are really needed.

During this code freeze most outstanding bugs must be fixed and
	stability must be tested.
++ When not, freeze will be extended..

Only when there are big problems. Bugs can also be fixed in the branch.

I don't participate in the release team, I have at this moment enough
otherthings to take care of,... Would I have some time,.. I will help.

I think we could have a war, with jndi-stuff and easy installing, also
an not so automatic version, build in the old way.

I don't like to many different versions, causes confusion for the users.
