What does this have to to with trying to make compilation /maintenance more
easy /wanting to think about it?. I am not against an oracle driver

And thats bad , it means that if I want to test the distro I have to have just
the right .jar files combination in my path. At the moment there are more
broken targets in de build.xml becauseit's all in one big file and nobody
understands it any more (documentation is broken the war and wars target are
broken) and there are to much "if and goto statements"
the lib download sucks
the documentation target gives errors
the default configuration with hsqldb stores the database files in the wrong
directory
and so on..
but we are slowly trying make it it better don't we?

We are in a freeze. the support class is new.We want to make a good distro.
If in one month we find a bug in the driver we wil have to make a bugfix
release? I think it's so much eazier to just download the "bugfixed" part.
(idem if we find a bug in MMBase that doesn't affect the database driver)

Further my repmakes where not again you in person but more in general
I you think adding more stuff to the build.xml is the way to go. go for it
fix the build and add you informix classes, help create the realse and bugfix
realsese.
