Hello,

The first release candidate of MMBase's next release 1.6.0 can be
downloaded from: <http://www.mmbase.org/releases/>. At this location
you'll find a lot of zips, but you only need mmbase-1.6.0-rc1.zip or
mmbase-src-1.6.0-rc1.zip:

- mmbase-1.6.0-rc1.zip: Binary distro, contains a complete webapp
including a hsqldb database, examples, documentation, etc.
- mmbase-src-1.6.0-rc1.zip: Source distro, contains all the sources you
need to build your own MMBAse.
- mmbase-jars-1.6.0-rc1.zip: External jars you need when you want to
build your own MMBase. At the moment the easiast way is to let the
build.xml download all the jars you need, because there is a problem
using this zip, it will be fixed in the next rc.

The releasenotes are not complete and there are a few bugs that need to
be fixed before the final release <http://www.mmbase.org/bug>.

In this version all builders are put in applications, and most aren't
being deployed when starting MMBase, so you have to deploy one or more
applications before testing this release.

Please test it and report bugs at <http://www.mmbase.org/bug>. You can
test it by installing a fresh MMBase (new database) and deploy the
applications and test the examples.

We also like to hear from you which configuration did you use to test
it, things like os, jdk, database, etc.

Gerard
