Based on reports I received and some code inspection, I have to conclude that the Oracle support class does not work correctly with MMBase release 1.6.x.
In spite of the fact that bugs reported in release 1.5.x were fixed, new bugs were introduced by changes in the MMBase functionality - in particular the introduction of inheritance. Apparently some database supportclasses were adapted to these changes, but not all. Regrettably, until someone fixes the problem(s), release 1.6.x does NOT support Oracle databases. There may be other database support classes that suffer from the same problems.
