This is not necessarily a bug. The storage classes are still experimental,
so it's acceptable when they're not compatible with deprecated scan code.
It's always an option to use the database support classes that still provide
that support.

The SearchQuery frameword *does* support the MMNODE syntax. 
Consequently, the storage support the MMNODE syntax as well in release 1.7.
