1) It seems the editwizards use Dove to communicate with MMBase. To my
understanding, Dove is a service allowing clients to talk to an MMBase
server using XML. As far as I know, the editwizards are a serverside
application. So the only reason I can think of to use Dove in this case, is
the editwizards are XML-based and Dove presents an XML interface to MMBase.
Is this correct?
I don't think the editwizards are using Dove. The initial version did, but the version distributed with MMBase-1.6.x doesn't use it. Dove isn't activated by default in the web.xml and the editwizards are working by default.
IIRC the editwizards are using the taglib.

2) Do Dove and the editwizard use MMBase security? I figure they do by
definition if Dove uses the bridge, but is this the case?
The editwizards are using MMBase security (because they are using the taglib) and Dove is using the bridge, so it also uses security.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.......
