we are talking about 356 .shtml files 206 from the mmedidors 57 from the mmadmin interface 93 from the mmexample

Yes, I think these can be removed safely.
we shouid keep the scan editor for the moment since the taglib ones don't provider a good alternative (yet?). maybe the best thing to do is just to put them in a zip file. put it on the site somewhere?
Maybe discuss which editors will be default in MMBase-1.7? I personally like the my_editors.
And I'm ok with a zip with the scan-editors.
