a few MB's not more than 4 or 5
if you upload more it wil also take to long to upload
if you have time goto the hema foto service and try it out for yourselve :)
.. the foto services has a nice "status" frame that show you long you have to wait

when using ftp yes you can use an url like

ftp://admin:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/


mozilla/netscape than have a File->upload menu
and with IE you can drop files in the folder
